What occupation? Israel left Gaza in the early 2000s. And Egypt doesn't want an open border with Gaza either.

I'd love to see a two-state solution; but until Hamas stops using international largesse to build tunnels and weapons instead of homes and schools, and until they stop lobbing missiles into Israel, and until Palestinians stop cheering them on, I don't see that it'll happen.

Actually, until Oct. 7 when their vicious barbarism was in full display, Israel had kinda forgotten about Gaza. It must have felt nice for a while.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I was able to study in Jersualem, and live with Palestinian and Israeli familes during my time in college, 1999. A year before everything went down hill. It was hard to understand where we stood at that moment in history--the peace process had major cracks and seemed unfair and flawed. But there was still hope. The next year, Bush and Sharon are elected...
