While 2024 is shaping up to be another round of the two-party doom loop cycle, some folks are looking forward to try to change the system for the better.
I think the idea is that if for example Jack is a Democrat and Third Party endorses him, they both trust and send a signal that he’ll choose to field or vote more as a moderate when it comes to bills —if the Third Party vote tally for him is greater than the Democrat Party vote tally is for him. No guarantee an elected official doesn’t betray their voters but then voters would choose not to vote for that candidate in the next election. It’s more about sending a string voter message to the Democrats in this example about how they need to govern to gain support from the moderates who are apparently turned off the two-party choice and will not vote, or will vote in retaliation for the Republican candidate to send a message.
I could be wrong, but that’s how I understood this.
I like the buffalo. "Keep butting that dam."
Interesting but I still don't get how fusion ends up electing someone that is third party or moderate?
