On the Israelis, Palestinians and others who are defying polarization in search of an end to the conflict. Plus, is the #Resistance really "exhausted"?
Part of the drop in contributions might be people like me who are spending all our donation $ on POSTCARD STAMPS. I buy them for myself and to donate to others who can't afford the 100s of postcards we write! My people are energized and engaged!!
Absolutely agree! I think all the postcarding activists are keepibng the USPS afloat! I stocked up on stamps before the Jan price increase - both postcard and First Class stamps since I am planning to write Vote Forward letters.
I appreciate your emphasis on how recognizing our shared humanity pushes us to avoid maximalist positions on Israel/Palestine. I love the poem, especially. Blessed are the peacemakers, indeed. Safe travels.
Thanks so much, Micah. Hot and cheap takes are overrunning media these days, so it feels especially nourishing to read your column. I noted that NYT piece this morning too. I did appreciate Emily Bazelon's discussion with scholars and thinkers about the history of the conflict in Israel and Palestine a couple of weeks back in the NYT Magazine. It's so important to read about the region's history. Safe travels

Just a note to convey how much value your writing, Micah. It's a such a vital antidote to the oceans of nonsense.

Thank you Micah. Breaking out of binary thinking in general would be a step forward for humankind imo.
Important piece. Thank you. Safe travels.
Wonderful column about the greys and the nuances......just what we need.
Have a fantastic trip and come back with tons of good stories to share.
